Lady Tigers Split With Chesterton, LaPorte

Playing their first home match of the season, the Warsaw Lady Tigers split with 10th-ranked Chesterton and LaPorte Thursday at Stonehenge.
Chesterton, led by medalist Elyse Stasil’s round of 1-under 70, won the three-team match with a four-player  score of 332. Warsaw shot 383, beating LaPorte by two strokes.
Continuing to improve under second-year coach Tad Nieter, the Lady Tigers beat their best 18-hole team score from last year by 15 strokes.
Page Desenberg led Warsaw with an 88, which topped her previous career best by nine strokes.
Other scores for Warsaw included Madi Graham’s 90, Madelyn Ray’s 102, Delaney Wihebrink’s 103 and Izzy Ray’s 104.
Emily Wilmsen paced LaPorte with a 92, while teammate Hannah Schuster carded a 93.
En route to medalist honors, Stasil shot 37 on the front and 33 on the back.
She was 4-over after three holes, but trimmed her score with eagles on Nos. 6 and 11.
The Warsaw JV team played nine holes and was led by Grayson Kilburn’s 51.
The Lady Tigers are in action again Saturday in the East Noble Invitational at Noble Hawk.
