The event is Aug. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students must be accompanied by a guardian.
“Students, for free, can get five outfits, new socks and underwear and school supplies,” said Roz Morgan, Our Father’s House founding director.
There were 519 students served last year, and over 500 students are expected to be served this year, she said.
Our Father’s House, 401 Argonne Road, Warsaw, purchases the school supplies and local businesses and community members also donate them.
“The unemployment rate is down in the county, but it’s because people are taking lower-paying and minimum-wage jobs,” Morgan said. “Every child should start school on the same line and have school supplies and clothing.”
Bookbag donations are still needed, and if people want to donate school supplies they can drop items off at Our Father’s House Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
