Purdue Ext. To Hold Fall Prevention Program For Older Adults

NORTH WEBSTER – Many older adults are concerned about falling, which can lead to restricting daily activities and limiting their independence.
To address these concerns, Purdue University Extension is offering the fall prevention program A Matter of Balance. This program is designed to help participants manage the risk of falls and increase their activity levels with practical strategies.
The A Matter of Balance program will teach participants how to view falls as controllable, set goals to increase activity, make changes in the home environment to reduce fall risks and perform exercises to increase strength and balance.
The program will be at the North Webster Community Library, 110 E. North St. Sessions are April 28 to May 21. Classes will be Mondays and Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The program is limited to 12 participants, and there is a $25 registration fee. To register, visit https://cvent.me/3YQNa3. If assistance with registration is needed, contact the Purdue Extension Kosciusko County Office at 574-372-2340. Registration deadline is April 21.
