Class Act Dance Troupe brings its award-winning pieces to the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
“This concert will showcase the artistry, talent and dedication of our students,” said CADT co-director Kristina Collier. “We have everything from a stylistic hip hop piece, Jam, by Chicago-based choreographer Suavé, to the emotional choreography of My Mother Told Me, by Michael Foley from the University of South Florida. The variety of this show will offer something for everyone.”
The evening will also include a special piece choreographed by CADT alumnus, Gaby Archer, and performed by a group of CADT alumni. The piece was created in memory of Teresa Verteramo, also a CADT alumnus, who died in 2024. “The bonds and memories these dancers shared with Teresa are a beautiful example of how dance friends can become life-long friends,” said CADT co-director Tammy Seibold. “We all felt such a huge loss with her passing; to have these former troupe members dance in her honor is very special.”
“Our students are passionate about dance, and it shows in every piece. You can feel their intensity in the jazz piece Immortals, then with just as much conviction, they deliver the classical feel of Mi Amor. As the show unfolds, you will be amazed by the versatility of our dancers. It’s the most entertaining 75 minutes you will find,” explains Seibold.
Tickets will be available for $20 at the door beginning one hour before the performance. Proceeds from the performance benefit the CADT scholarship fund. Discounted student tickets are available for $10 from any CADT member.
The non-profit performing company, affiliated with Debra Collier’s School of Dance, was created in 1986 to provide students with additional opportunities to use their dance training by performing for various events and organizations and participating in regional competitions. The company of students, ages 10 to 19, has performed for such events as Walt Disney World’s Magic Music Days, NASCAR, and the Komets hockey team, as well as focusing on community involvement through local performances. For more information regarding the troupe or to schedule a performance, contact Seibold at 574-267-7055 or email [email protected].
