NORTH MANCHESTER – Sue Adele Bennett, 91, died June 2, 2024.
She was born in Chicago, to Clarence and Helen Umphress Martin on June 22, 1932. Sue married Mort Lewis.
Local survivor is her daughter, Dr. Peggy Lewis, North Manchester.
A celebration of Sue's life will be Saturday, Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. with calling beginning at 10 a.m. at the Roann United Methodist Church. At that time, there will be a time of remembrance, reflection, singing and sharing of stories that will honor Sue's life and facilitate mourning/healing for the community of people that loved her.
For those who wish to honor the memory of Sue Bennett, contributions may be made to Wabash County Animal Shelter, 810 Manchester Ave., Wabash, IN; or The Nature Conservancy, Attn: Treasury, 4245 North Fairfax Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203.
The family of Sue Bennett has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.

Two of the top five girls basketball teams in the state met in Fort Wayne Tuesday night, with Warsaw traveling to take on Homestead. Along with granting $30,000 of the city’s restricted opioid settlement money to Kosciusko Superior Court I’s new problem-solving court, a Reentry Court, on Tuesday, the Warsaw Common Council determined to form a committee to hear future settlement dollar requests.
