Indiana Humanities is inviting Warsaw-area residents to come together for dinner and discussion on Oct. 17 as part of Chew on This, an event series that uses the power of food and drink as a convener of people and catalyst for conversation.
Warsaw will be one of six sites around the state where small groups will meet over dinner and discuss how food plays a role in creating community, according to a news release from Indiana Humanities.
Caroline Patrick, Indiana Grown program director with the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, will facilitate the discussion in Warsaw at Oak & Alley.
“Time and time again, our Chew on This experience has allowed Hoosiers to engage in meaningful conversation with people they might not otherwise meet,” said Marisol Gouveia, director of engagement at Indiana Humanities. “Our hope is that guests leave the dinners feeling connected, and that they continue to think about and use their recipes for community long after they’ve left.”
Chew on This will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 17 at Oak & Alley, 2308 E. Center St., Warsaw.
Cost is $30 per person, which includes meal, non-alcoholic drinks, tax and tip. Alcohol will be available for purchase directly from the restaurant.

Chew on This is a part of Indiana Humanities’ Food for Thought 2024 programming, presented by Indiana’s Family of Farmers.
Other participating restaurants and cities are Aroma Indian Cuisine in Indianapolis, Legacy West African Cuisine in Muncie, La Catrina Tacos & Tequila in Jeffersonville, The Putnam Inn in Greencastle and Thai Villa Cuisine in Fishers.
