World Compassion Network (WCN) is setting up a collection point for specific disaster relief items at Warsaw Community Church.
Metzger Trucking has donated a semi-tractor-trailer and will drive it to North Carolina as soon as it’s full. The goal is to have it filled by Oct. 10, according to a news release from WCN. They are praying that the community can fill it up before then.
“The need is so great as you can see from all of the news reports. WCN is working through a local ministry in Hot Springs, North Carolina. All donated items will go to Hot Springs Elementary school to be distributed to people affected by the historical, awful flooding,” the release states.
Items needed include rakes, shovels, baby and adult diapers, baby wipes, feminine personal hygiene products, cleaning supplies (bleach), baby formula, granola/protein bars, “pop top” non-perishable food, juice boxes, tarps, new gas cans, trashbags, gloves, face masks, storage containers with lids, generators and chain saws.
At this time, WCN can only take items on the list. Call 574-551-4801 if you have questions.
Volunteers will be at the collection point until 6 p.m. during the week and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Bring only items that are on the list. Any other items will be turned away.
The release states, “We are so thankful for our community. We have great volunteers, supporters and donors. If you would like to donate or volunteer, please contact us.”
The website is www.wcnministries.org; call or text 574–267–5427; or email [email protected].
