Editor, Times-Union:
Dear Officer Woods,
I wanted to write and apologize for my actions on 11/25/23. I am sincerely sorry for hurting you. I genuinely didn’t mean to cause you harm. It was never my intention to cause pain to your or anyone else. I am deeply remorseful for my actions and I understand if you don’t forgive me. It was not my place to act like I did and disrespect you.
I understand how important it is to maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone. I am sorry for not helping to maintain that. I take full responsibility for my actions, and I would like you to know I am working to be a better person every day. I am in therapy, which is helping me learn how to control my emotions. I am committed to do whatever it takes to ensure nothing like this ever happens again. I hope that you will forgive me sometime. I feel horrible that I caused pain to you.
I apologize for my actions and for causing pain to you. I additionally apologize for any distress I may have caused you. If there is anything I can do to make amends, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I hope one day we can move past this incident. I am truly very sorry and remorseful.
My most sincere apologies,
Rebecca Spitler
