NORTH MANCHESTER – Dennis Eugene Cripe, born on Feb. 18, 1947, in Wabash, to Daniel Arden and Doris Irene Moore Cripe, went to be with Jesus, on Nov. 13, 2024, at the Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester.
He graduated from Manchester High School in 1965 and further pursued his education at Indiana Wesleyan University. Before embarking on a remarkable 31-year career at Josiah White's (formerly White's Residential and Family Services) in Wabash, Dennis spent over a decade farming, gaining invaluable experiences that instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the land.
Dennis was a man of unwavering faith, devoted to the Lord. He loved reading the Bible and sharing the joy of Jesus with those around him. His engaging personality was evident in the genuine interest he took in the lives of others; he loved conversing with people from all walks of life, getting to know them personally and offering kindness and encouragement.
Nature held a special place in Dennis's heart. He had a profound love for traveling and spending time outdoors, whether it was cutting wood or tending to his yard. For 37 years, he lived next to the train tracks, fostering a particular fondness for trains that reflected his passion for adventure.
Dennis will be forever cherished by his wife of 58 years, Judy, North Manchester; son, Daryl (Danna) Cripe, Noblesville; daughter, Michelle (Jason) Cartwright, Fort Wayne; brother, Larry (Diane) Cripe, North Manchester; sisters: Marilyn (Keith) Skiles, Donna Long, Nancy (Linda Troop) Cripe, all of North Manchester; and Sharlene (Dale) Flora, Ronan, Mont.; grandchildren: Alyssa (Ethan) Fisher, Erika Teune, Makayla Cripe, Rylan Cripe, Aspen Cartwright and Cooper Cartwright; great-grandchildren, Sky and Ace Fisher.
