SOUTH WHITLEY – At Tuesday night's meeting, the South Whitley Town Council approved a letter of agreement with DLZ to continue with street repaving on Main Street from Market to Columbia.
This contract of nearly $330,000 is part of the 2024 Community Crossings grant funding received for street repairs.
Utilities Superintendent Kent Slater said curbs and the first layer of asphalt will be completed soon on Mill and Walnut Streets.
Slater provided quotes on restoring or demolishing the old water tower. It would be $255,000 for a full restoration or $68,300 to take the old tower down.
Council changed the date, originally Dec. 24, for the final meeting of the year. The second December meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 23.
Council will next meet at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 26.
