NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given to the Citizens of the Civil City of Nappanee (“City”), Elkhart County and Kosciusko County, State of Indiana, that Ordinance No. 1638 ("Ordinance"), for additional appropriations, was introduced at a meeting of the Common Council held on November 4, 2024. At a meeting of the Common Council to be held at 7:00 p.m., on November 18, 2024, both in person at the Municipal Building, 300 West Lincoln Street, Nappanee, Indiana, and virtually via Zoom Meetings, there will be a public hearing on for the purpose of considering the following additional appropriations in excess of the budget for the current year, as follows:

Board of Works 400 – 2024 Capital Outlays (Fire Station) $1,797,267.28
(General Fund)
Fire Department 400 – 2024 Capital Outlays (Fire Station) $ 750,000.00
(General Fund)
Redevelopment (TIF) 400 – 2024 Capital Outlays
(Fire Station) $1,600,000.00
ARPA 400 – 2024 Capital Outlays (Fire Station) $ 128,736.72
City Panning 400 – 2024 Capital Outlays
(Electric Vehicles $ 108,830.00
(General Fund)
TOTAL $4,384,824.00
axpayers appearing at the meeting shall have the right to be heard. The additional appropriations as finally made will be referred to the Department of Local Government Finance (Department). The Department will make a written determination as to the sufficiency of funds to support the appropriation within fifteen (15) days of receipt of a Certified Copy of the action taken.
