Thanks, Voters

Editor, Times-Union:
I am humbled and so grateful for the support of the voters of Kosciusko County! There have been many who provided the encouragement for me to run who were willing to help make that happen. I had great conversations with farmers, large and small business representatives, retired taxpayers, young families, and young single voters as I campaigned hearing their thoughts! I appreciate the time people spent with me sharing their concerns. I will continue to reach out as always!
I will finish my term as a Council member on December 31, 2024, and pending the fall general election outcome, I hope to continue to serve the county as a Commissioner starting January 1, 2025. I will attend each meeting prepared to discuss the issues to come before the Commissioners for action, just as I have while serving on the Council. I come with no agenda and no conflicts of interest and will remain transparent in all matters to come before the Commissioners.
Taking an active role in the legislative process following bills that impact county government will continue to be a priority. Having a voice on legislative issues on behalf of Kosciusko County is important to help legislators understand the impact of decisions being made.
Continuing my long-term relationship instilled in me by former County Assessor and County Commissioner Avis Gunter, with the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) will remain a priority. The AIC is the strongest representation County Government has, not only at the legislature but also in providing quality education to office holders, department heads and county employees. I fully support continuing to take advantage of educational opportunities to benefit Kosciusko County.
Winning the fall general election is the next hurdle to cross!! I am ready!! I hope everyone will join me in that effort to win in November so I can say thank you to voters once again!!
Respectfully Submitted With Sincere Thanks and a Humble Heart,
Sue Ann Mitchell
Northern District Commissioner Candidate for the fall general election
