Cary Lewis Of Lewis Salvage Purchases White Machine Inc.

March 30, 2024 at 1:00 a.m.

Cary Lewis of Lewis Salvage has purchased White Machine Inc., located at 1903 White Industrial Drive. White Machine was operated by John White Jr. and started by his father John White in 1976 on South Buffalo Street, and later moving to its current location in 1986.
White’s services include the ability to repair and produce parts machined from steel with manual mills and lathes. White Machine will be closed on March 28 - 29 and will re-open as White Industrial Machine LLC on April 1.
White Industrial Machine plans to support its current client base and expand its repair services by purchasing upgraded equipment and reorganizing the facility. The property will be partly utilized to expand the footprint of Lewis Salvage.
Starting Downwind Recycling Services LLC in 2023, Lewis purchased Lewis Salvage Corp from his parents, Mike and Rita Lewis. In 2015, he purchased Mike Gill Auto and Truck Parts on West Winona Avenue, as well as the buildings at 3454 North Detroit Street.
Lewis was recently elected to the board of directors for the Indiana State chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) to advocate for the recycling industry. He continues to operate Gills as a ‘you-pick’ used parts yard, selling late model used car and truck parts. The Detroit Street Complex has been developed into a multi-use facility and provides third party storage services to local manufacturers.
Lewis Salvage purchases scrap metals, supports landfill reduction programs and provides destruction services to orthopedic manufacturers. Lewis Salvage, located at 1961 White Industrial Drive, Warsaw, can be reached at 574-267-6781 or lewis-salvage.com
