June 30, 2024 at 4:54 p.m.

Samie Brown, of Warsaw, Indiana, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital in Warsaw at the age of 85.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1938, in Salyersville, Ky., to Bertha Harmon and George Brown. Samie enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 9, 1952, and stationed in Okinawa, Japan, as a military police officer and was honorably discharged on July 8, 1959. After completing his military service, Samie returned home to Warsaw where he met his future wife, the one gal he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, Beverly Jean Salyer. They were married on March 18, 1960, in Silver Lake, and were blessed with 64 years together before Samie passed away.
Samie proudly served for 20 years in the Warsaw Police Department as a police officer and retiring as Chief of Police after four years. He always had a heart for service and enjoyed being involved in his community as a member of the Mason’s, Scottish Rite, Shrine, Elks and Moose Lodges, the Warsaw American Legion and member of the FOP. Samie was also a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He simply lived the best life he could and loved serving his community. Samie enjoyed working alongside his wife Beverly, they owned and operated S & B Auto Sales at 222 Bronson Street in Warsaw, happily serving their friends and family for many years.
Samie enjoyed worshiping his Lord at Gospel Hill Church in Silver Lake. He truly loved the simple things in life such as spending hours caring for his lawn while enjoying the outdoors. Warm weather suited Samie, especially escaping the winters of Indiana by living in Sarasota, Fla. Samie was dearly loved and leaves behind his family with many memories to remember him by.

He leaves behind his wife, Beverly Brown; two daughters, Debbie Brown Newman (Charlie Lisenbee) and Teresa Lisenbee; grandson, Josh Lisenbee, all of Warsaw; and his sister, Myrtle (Ray) Mullins, Milford. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Chuck Lisenbee, husband of Teresa; and Vickie Hersha, Robie Brown, Frank Brown and Ethel Allen.
Samie’s life was celebrated with a private family graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, which was officiated by Pastor Frank Whitaker. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they will be very much appreciated by Samie’s family. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
Online condolences may be sent through the funeral home’s website at www.redpathfruthfuneralhome.com.
