Larry L. Plummer Sr., 88, passed away peacefully at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne on Friday, June 28, 2024.
Larry was born on Feb. 26, 1936, to Harvey and Nancy Gause Plummer in Larwill. He graduated from Larwill High School in 1954.
On Sept. 18, 1954, Larry married Dorothy Jane Stephens. They would have celebrated 70 years of marriage this coming September. They had five children together: Sherry, Lora, Pam, Larry and Shelly.
Larry spent most of his adult life as a mechanic being employed by the Warsaw Community Schools in the bus garage and the city of Warsaw Park Department.
In his life, Larry enjoyed racing at the Warsaw Speedway, watching NASCAR and any type of racing. He followed the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and all Notre Dame sports.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; and his children: Larry (Mary Lou), Lora Shelton, Pam Miller and Shelly (Dean) Hurd; 21 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Chuck and Tex; daughter, Sherry Heaton; and great-grandson, Gregory Colt.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 9 at 10 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, 421 N. Maple Ave., Warsaw.
