Thanks, Patten Monument

Editor, Times-Union:
We would like to publicly thank Patten Monument for going above and beyond to address a problem with a gravestone that we recently purchased from them.
Last fall, we purchased a gravestone for my mother’s gravesite in Rochester. It was placed at the gravesite just a few days before my father passed away in February, so the first time that we were able to see the monument was at my father’s graveside funeral service, which is when we noticed that the stone and foundation were damaged. We called Patten Monument to see if it was somehow damaged in delivery or set up. They were able to quickly confirm that it was not. However, less than an hour later, Dan Forbes from Patten called back to say that even though it wasn’t damaged by their employees, they would replace the gravestone for us since we had been through so much in the loss of our parents. They didn’t have any obligation to do so, but we were so blessed by their kindness and want to ensure that our community knows the character of this company. We highly recommend Patten Monument, not only for the quality of their products but especially for their exceptional customer service.
Thank you, Dan for your prompt attention to our situation, as well as thoughtfully and thoroughly addressing this problem for us.
