Disappointed With Rudy

Editor, Times-Union:
I've got to admit, never in my life had I felt the need to voice or remark publicly on the politics and politicians elected in our district. I always knew that whomever was in office wouldn't be there forever and if I disagreed with their policy I could always vote against them next go round.
I felt safe in listening to what they said, and what the journalists said about them. I thought I could look at them and tell if they believed in the issue I took exception with or were just going through the motions. I was confident I was doing the right thing and my duty as an American citizen and father that my vote counted and by casting it for my preferred candidate that individual would represent me and my family and they had our best interest at heart.
I believed that in America, our differences and the way we solved them through discussion, debate and action made us stronger and how we were able to make compromise actually unified us as a people, state and nation.
I don't know when or how it happened, but that faith in my representation has been distorted and destroyed through the action of our state’s leadership and their inability to separate themselves from the disgusting state of our national politics. The way they behave towards each other makes me wonder how anything will ever again be united.
This is why I support Lori Camp. She's local. She's part of the community. Just read her bio and you'll understand how she's made a career through serving others. That's the Hoosier way and how our 2nd district should be represented.
