Longtime Kosciusko County Alcohol and Tobacco Commission President Elim Smith has resigned from the board.
His replacement will come from the city of Warsaw mayor’s office as it is a mayor appointment. Mayor Jeff Grose is working on a replacement for Smith, but his office did not have any further information as of Thursday.
As Smith was not at Thursday’s regular monthly meeting of the commission, no official reason for his resignation was provided.
In other business, the commission approved the following license renewals:
• James W. Sittler Post 1126 Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Inc., doing business as VFW 1126, 1350 W. Center St., Warsaw; beer, wine and liquor fraternal club license.
• McClure Oil Corp., doing business as McClure Oil #37, 9311 S. Ind. 15, Silver Lake, beer and wine dealer grocery store license.
• James & Wendy Inc., doing business as Hammer’s Pub & Grub, 104 E. Pickwick Road, Syracuse, beer, wine and liquor restaurant license.
• Maxwelton Golf Club Inc., 5721 E. Elkhart County Line Road, Syracuse, beer, wine and liquor restaurant license.
• Lakelife Bar and Grill LLC, doing business as Lakelife, 3687 N. Barbee Road, Warsaw, beer, wine and liquor restaurant license.
• Scott’s Package Liquors Inc., doing business as Pierceton Discount Package Liquor, 101 S. First St., Pierceton, beer, wine and liquor package store license.
