Calvin Max Weakly

BOURBON – Calvin Max Weakly, 97, lifelong resident of Bourbon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024, at Signature Health Care in Bremen.
Max was born in Bourbon, on May 28, 1926, to Delbert and Pauline Sharpe Weakly.
He graduated from Bourbon High School in 1944, and proudly served in the United States Army and Air Corp in Hawaii from 1944-1946 during World War II.
Max married Margaret Anglin in Bourbon on Oct. 6, 1946. They were featured on WNDU for their 77 years of marriage.
Max worked in onion patches, Ball Ban, Studebaker, Orthopedic, was a well-known door-to-door milkman for Deans, and retired from RR Donnelley after working there for 23 years.
He belonged to the Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #424 of Bourbon. Max was recently recognized by the Marshall County DAR for his patriotism, dedication and service. He was always appreciative of the recognition given to himself and other veterans and various Veterans Day programs.
Max will be remembered by Bourbon residents for his love of touring the town on his bicycle, his friendliness, kindness, patriotism and love of chocolate.
Max is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughters, Diana Graham, of South Carolina; and Lee Ann (Ed) Rock, of Mentone. Also surviving are his five granddaughters, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gary Fuller; and their daughter, Tracey. His parents and siblings: James Weakly, Francis Davis and Barbara Andrews, also preceded him in death.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on May 25 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
Memorials in honor of Max may be given to Bourbon Fire Department, 216 N. Main St., Bourbon, or to Bourbon American Legion Post #424, 202 S. Main St., Bourbon, IN 46504.
