The Birthplace Recognized With Another Award For Outstanding Care

GOSHEN – The Birthplace at Goshen Hospital was recently recognized as a blue distinction center for maternity care by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Quality of care, cost and access were evaluated as part of the review. The Birthplace met or exceeded nationally established quality measures to receive this recognition.
"Providing the highest quality of care for mothers and their babies in the delivery process is something we take pride in," said Randy Christophel, Goshen Health president and chief executive officer. "The compassionate and professional care our colleagues offer new mothers and their babies helps meet the needs of our community – and gives our team a lot of joy at the same time."
This is the fourth consecutive year Goshen Hospital's Birthplace has received this recognition, according to the release from Goshen Health. Patient outcomes and criteria outlined in a 2023 survey of maternity care also feature in determining which facilities qualify to receive the honor of being named a blue distinction center.
