Sharon Renee Schlemmer

Sharon Renee Schlemmer, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024, at the age of 61.
She was born on Feb. 16, 1963, in Gary, to Barbara Landrum Kirk and Robert “Bobby” Wayne Kirk. Sharon was self-employed and over the years she worked cleaning houses. She also served as a waitress in many venues. More than anything she was a proud mother and grandmother and raised her kids the best way she could. Sharon attended Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church of God in Silver Lake. She enjoyed shopping, camping, boating, fishing and spending quality time with family and friends.
She leaves behind three sons: Ricky (Cindy) Richardson, Warsaw; Randy Richardson, Plymouth; and Pastor Robert “Bobby” Board, Monterey. She is further survived by two stepsons, Zak (Stephanie) Lee, Pierceton; and Jerrad Schlemmer, Warsaw. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Sharon also leaves behind two brothers, Thomas (Mandy) Chumley, Monterey; and James (Pamela) Chumley, Beardstown; five sisters: Glenda Kirk, Culver; Kathy (Arthur) Navarrete, Midland, Texas; Candy (Gary) Weaver, Palm Bay, Fla.; Cindy (Gary) Clingler, Rochester; and Bobbie (Donald) Smith, Kokomo. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Kevin Schlemmer; and by her parents, Robert and Barbara Kirk; and her stepmother, Dorothy Marie Kirk.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan. 3 at 3 p.m. at Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church of God, 303 S. Jefferson St., Silver Lake, and officiated by Pastor Bobby Board and Pastor Justin Harshman. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m.
