Bookings
The following people were arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail:
• 11:05 a.m. Friday - Kelsey Mcadory Bates, 31, Spencerville, arrested for misdemeanor failure to appear. NO bond set.
• 3:45 p.m. Friday - Joel Moyotl Velazquez, 51, of 3462 E. Armstrong Road, Leesburg, arrested for misdemeanor failure to appear. No bond set.
• 10:41 p.m. Friday - Timothy Allan Dilley, 61, of 95 EMS D18A1 Lane, Syracuse, arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a property damage crash and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Bond: $700.
• 11:04 p.m. Friday - Billy Dewayne Gibson, 53, of 201 S. Detroit St., #284, Warsaw, arrested for resisting a law enforcement officer using a vehicle, resisting a law enforcement officer causing bodily injury and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Bond: $5,250.
• 11:37 p.m. Friday - Haylie Alexus Winter, 30, of 304 E. High St., Atwood, arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and felony battery - bodily waste. Bond: $5,250.
• 10:18 a.m. Saturday - Cordell Eugene Scruggs, 36, of 807 E. 7th St., North Manchester, arrested for misdemeanor failure to appear. Bond: $500.
• 12:21 p.m. Saturday - Lane Thomas Russo, 25, Peru, Ind., arrested for theft of auto parts, possession of marijuana/hash oil/hashish and driving a motor vehicle while suspended with a prior suspension. Bond: $7,500.
• 5:19 a.m. Sunday - Christopher Dean Fields, 59, Huntington, arrested for public intoxication by alcohol. Bond: $400.

Incidents
• 12:11 p.m. Friday - Theft and public intoxication were reported in the 2500 block of Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Warsaw Police Department investigated.
• 3:43 p.m. Friday - Jewelry beads, paint and canvas frames were reported stolen in the 200 block of North Fort Wayne Avenue, Warsaw. WPD.
• 8:35 p.m. Friday - A prescription pill bottle and jewelry were reported stolen in the 400 block of East CR 350N, Warsaw. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated.
Midnight Saturday - Misdemeanor battery was reported in the 900 block of Anchorage Road, Warsaw. WPD.
• 3:33 a.m. Saturday - A drug overdose was reported in the 5900 block of South Woodland Lane, Warsaw. KCSO.

Valley Opens Sectional Play With Win Over West Noble
The Tippecanoe Valley girls’ win on Tuesday night wasn’t the prettiest, but at this time of year that doesn’t matter. The team was able to survive and advance with a victory in the opening game of the 3A Sectional Tournament at Fairfield, pulling away late to defeat West Noble 40-19.

Wawasee Community School Corp. Holds First Hearing On Student Activity Center
SYRACUSE — The first of two state-mandated public hearings on a new student activity center and deferred maintenance projects was approximately 15 minutes long with no public comments Tuesday.
