Beulah E. Badskey, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister and devoted wife, passed away on Dec. 13, 2024, at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City, Ind. Born on June 8, 1936, in Servia, Ind., to Henry George and Sylvia Rose Vandermark Young, Beulah led a life defined by her unwavering commitment to her family and her faith.
In 1954, Beulah graduated from Chester High School. The following year, on June 19, 1955, Beulah married Arden Eugene Badskey. For the next nearly 68 years, Beulah and Arden built a beautiful life and family together, including their four children, Larry, Rose Marie, Diana and Dennis. She was a loving mother who took an active role in her children's lives, instilling in them the importance of faith, family and community. Often times she would teach these lessons under the shade of a maple tree, sharing stories about God and the value of togetherness. She also taught her children and grandchildren how to bake, sew and provide help for their 4-H projects. She was fiercely supportive of her grandchildren, often attending their events with pride and joy, and she never missed an opportunity for baby cuddles, expressing her love in simple yet profound ways.
Beulah took pride in her role as a farmer’s wife, embracing the challenges of rural life with grace and ease. Her work extended beyond homemaking; she spent several years at Heckman Bindery and was a familiar face at Wal-Mart, where she dedicated her time to the Fabric Department. Beulah's multifaceted career exemplified her determination and tireless spirit.
A member of the Manchester Bible Church, Beulah’s strength of character was matched only by her deep faith. A firm believer in the teachings of the Bible, Beulah endeavored to live her life according to its principles, serving as an embodiment of kindness and resilience to all those around her.
The loving memory of Beulah Badskey will be forever cherished by her children, Larry (Rhonda) Badskey, Avilla, Rose Marie (Jeff) Pottenger, South Whitley, Diana Badskey, South Whitley, and Dennis (Amy) Badskey, Corunna; sister, Dora Fisher, Australia; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her Manchester Bible Church Family. Beulah was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arden Eugene Badskey; brothers, Harold, Daniel, Delbert, Luther, Henry, and Leroy Young; sisters, Eunice Young and Sylvia Howard.
