Kirk E. Livengood, 96, of Tippecanoe,  passed at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Plymouth.
Kirk was born on June 10, 1928, in Springs, Pa., to the late Homer and Effie King Livengood. He graduated from Springs High School in 1946. On Dec. 25, 1950, he married Shirley Ann Miller in Springs, Pa. She preceded him in death on Nov. 27, 2001.
Kirk had a passion for work. He moved to Mentone to advance his career with Carpenter Brothers, managing their egg business and shipping eggs to Maryland. He later worked for AgWay and the Burket Elevator, and in his later years, he made deliveries for Harmony Press.
Kirk was a devoted member of Walnut Church of the Brethren of Argos and a former member of the Bourbon Mennonite Chapel and the Tippecanoe Lions Club. He also served his community as township trustee. He earned his pilot’s license and enjoyed several cruises with his beloved wife.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Livengood, of Bloomington; and Timothy and wife Alyson Livengood, of New Palestine; grandchildren, Nathan Livengood and Natalie Ahonen; and great-grandchildren, Molly and Audrey Ahonen.
Kirk was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; daughter, Debra K. Livengood (2017); two sisters and three brothers.
The funeral service will take place at noon Saturday, Dec. 14 at Walnut Church of the Brethren, 5975 19th Road, Argos, with Pastor Richard Dean officiating. The interment will take place following the service in the Walnut Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Argos. Visitation hours will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 14 at the church.
The arrangements have been entrusted to King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Walnut Church of the Brethren.
