Lavivian L. Hagan, affectionately known to many as Viv, passed away peacefully on Dec. 2, 2024, at Barbee Lake, surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 82.
She was born on Jan. 16, 1942, in Blue Creek, Ohio, to Everett and Kathleen Evans.
Viv attended Friendship High School in West Portsmouth, Ohio. She began her career in banking, working as a teller at Chesterton State Bank in Valparaiso, before concluding her professional journey at Beacon Credit Union in Warsaw, from which she retired in 2004.
On Oct. 29, 1960, Viv married Donald R. Hagan in Hammond, a partnership that flourished over the years. Together, they created a loving home filled with cherished memories, particularly evident during the Christmas season, a time Viv held dear as it brought her family together. She was known for her generous spirit, welcoming personality, and her knack for creating adventures, often taking her grandchildren on memorable trips in the RV Motorcoach.
Viv had a deep appreciation for family and is survived by her devoted husband, Donald Hagan, of Barbee Lake; her son, Richard (Cindy) Hagan, of Barbee Lake; and her daughter, Julia (Jerry) Burns, of North Webster; along with eight beloved grandchildren and several great-grandchildren who brought great joy to her life. She will also be missed by her sisters, Ruth McKenzie, of Norris City, Ill.; and Jessie Evans, of West Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Allen Hagan; her son, Bradley Hagan; her sister, Julia Blevins; and her brother, Richard Evans.
Viv's life will be honored with a Life Celebration visitation on Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service starting at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Boyer from North Webster Church of God officiating at Titus Funeral Home, 8056 E. CR 500N, North Webster. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Mock Addition North Webster Cemetery at 2 p.m.
