FORT WAYNE – Parkview Health has been named to the Forbes list of America's Best-In-State Employers 2024, ranking No. 25 out of 75 companies included on Indiana's list.
It's the third consecutive year Parkview has made the Forbes list, previously ranking No. 10 in 2023 and No. 26 in 2022.
"Parkview is committed to continuing to build and grow a culture of excellence, providing excellent care to every person, every day," said Rick Henvey, CEO, Parkview Health. "Fulfilling that commitment means both providing the highest-quality care to our patients at the best value and creating the best environment for our more than 16,000 co-workers who provide that care. We're proud to be recognized among Indiana's best employers."
This award is presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., the leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider, according to the release from Parkview Health. America's Best-In-State Employers 2024 have been identified in an independent survey from a vast sample of more than 160,000 employees working for companies employing at least 500 people within the U.S. The ranking is open to companies from all industry sectors. Around 4.4 million employer evaluations were considered.
The ranking looks at three years of data, allowing for a differentiation between organizations that perform well and those that may only have had a single good year. An employer's final score is determined on a state-by-state basis and is built upon two sources including:
• personal evaluations, employees' willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family and public evaluations; and
• recommendations from friends and family members of employees, or members of the public who work in the same industry.
Parkview was the top-ranked employer headquartered in northeast Indiana on this year's list, joined by fellow Fort Wayne-based Steel Dynamics Inc. at No. 50.
"We believe that by taking excellent care of our co-workers, we ensure that they're equipped and engaged to fully focus on taking excellent care of those they serve," said Dena Jacquay, chief administrative officer, Parkview Health. "Our leaders go directly to the source, listening to feedback directly from our co-workers to help us stay in tune with their needs and ideas for improvement. Those efforts have helped us become a national leader in not only culture, but also quality and patient experience as we hear feedback straight from the frontlines."
On top of competitive pay and benefits, Parkview offers numerous additional perks to its co-workers, the provided release states. Those include programs like the quarterly "lifestyle benefit" stipend, allowing employees to make personal purchases of their choosing; discount opportunities at local businesses, opportunities for free admission to local attractions and events and co-worker contests and giveaways; an employee well-being department (named a Best and Brightest in Wellness for six consecutive years) that offers numerous physical and mental health programs for co-workers; flexible work arrangements for eligible departments; and innovative support like the Parkview Pups therapy dog program.
