Operation Christmas Child collects shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, clothes and hygiene items for children in third-world countries.
Churches, individuals and other local organizations all over Kosciusko County and beyond donate items and filled shoeboxes in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, culminating in collection week, which was Nov. 13-20 this year.
Volunteers from all over the area met at First Christian Church in Warsaw throughout the week to fill shoeboxes, organize donations and load shipping containers. They had donations this year with 2,497 shoebox gifts being packed and sent.
