Baseball Sectionals

Wawasee vs. East Noble


Wawasee’s season came to an end Wednesday night in the opening round of the IHSAA baseball sectional at NorthWood High School. The Warriors lost 8-4 to East Noble to end their season with a 5-20 record.

Wawasee was able to score a run in the first three innings of the game, but six runs in the final two innings by East Noble ended up being the difference. Wawasee will return next season.

Tennis Regional

Warsaw at Culver Academy


The Lady Tiger tennis season came to an end Wednesday evening in a 3-2 loss to Culver Academy.

The match was hard fought and could have gone either way, with four of the five matches going to three sets. No. 3 singles player Emma Van Puffelen won her match 7-5, 2-6, 6-2, while the No. 1 doubles pairing of Avery Landwerlen and Clara Porter won 6-1, 5-7, 6-2. No. 1 singles player Addie Lind fought hard but dropped her match 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 2-6.

The Lady Tigers will return next season.
