Softball Sectionals

Warsaw vs. Elkhart


The Warsaw softball season came to an end Monday night as the Lady Tigers fell 17-5 to Elkhart at Penn High School. Warsaw ends its season with a record of 2-21.

Mia Rodriguez and Milana Whtiaker each had two hits and a run driven in for the Lady Tigers. Senior Lauren Eastwood went 2-4 with a double in her final game at Warsaw. Taylor Myers also added an RBI.

The Lady Tigers will return next season.

Wawasee vs. Fairfield

Wawasee was unable to pick up a second win against Fairfield this season, losing 7-5 in the opening round of sectional play at NorthWood High School. The Warriors end the season with a 12-13 record.

Haylee Allen went 1-4 with a triple, driving in two runs and scoring once. Allen also struck out five on the mound. All seven runs allowed by Allen were unearned. Jaclynn Worrell went 2-4 with a double, two runs scored and a run driven in.

The Warriors will return next season.

Whitko at Manchester

Manchester was able to keep its season alive with a 5-2 sectional victory over Whitko at home Monday evening. The Lady Squires are now 6-20 this season while the Lady ‘Cats end the year with a 2-15 record.

McKelvey Espeset led Manchester offensively with two hits and a run driven in. Haley West scored two runs for the Lady Squires. Molly Schannep struck out five in a complete game win. For Whitko, Taylor Long had a hit while Brooklyn Cooley had an RBI. Addie Garr struck out nine on the mound in the loss.

Manchester advances to play Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Wednesday night while Whitko will return next season.

Baseball

Winamac at Tippecanoe Valley


Tippecanoe Valley wrapped up its regular season with its third win in a row Monday night, beating Winamac 8-6 at home. The Vikings are now 11-9 this season.

Annakin Pettit had a huge day at the plate, going 2-4 with a double and three runs driven in. Noah Prater scored two runs and had a hit. Taylor Wallis struck out five hitters in five innings of work.

Valley begins sectional play Wednesday evening against Knox at John Glenn High School.

Golf

Warsaw/Wawasee/Tippecanoe Valley/Triton at Bob Turner Classic


A plethora of local teams competed at the Bob Turner Classic at Tippecanoe Golf Course Monday evening. Warsaw took second place in the tournament with a 306, seven strokes behind winner Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger. Wawasee took fifth place, Tippy Valley finished sixth and Triton took tenth.

Warsaw’s Austin Craig finished in the top three individually with a 74. Wawasee’s Myles Everingham led his team with a 78 while Valley was led by a 78 from Greg Miller. Triton’s Tucker Worsham led the Trojans with a 93.
