NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE

CITY OF WARSAW REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION

    Notice is hereby given that the City of Warsaw, Indiana, Redevelopment Commission (the “Commission”), being the governing body of the City of Warsaw Department of Redevelopment (the “Department”), approved and adopted Resolution No. 2022-11-4 on November 7, 2022 (the “Declaratory Resolution”), amending a declaratory resolution previously adopted by the Commission (the “Original Resolution”) which designated an area known as the South Residential Economic Development Area (the “Economic Development Area”), as an economic development area pursuant to Indiana Code Section 36-7-14, as amended (the “Act”), and approved an economic development plan for the Economic Development Area (the “Original Plan”).  The Declaratory Resolution amends the Original Resolution and the Original Plan to (i) amend the boundaries of the Economic Development Area to include an additional certain area described therein (the “South Residential Expansion Area”); (ii) establish in the South Residential Expansion Area a residential housing development program pursuant to Section 53 of the Act; and (iii) amend the Original Plan to incorporate the residential housing program described therein (items (i) through and including (iii), collectively, the “Amendments”)(the Original Plan, as amended, the “Amended Plan”).    

    The proposed South Residential Expansion Area is generally located south of the Park Ridge subdivision and east of Fisher Avenue.

    Notice is hereby given that the Commission will conduct a public hearing on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 4:00 p.m., at the Council Chambers, Warsaw City Hall, 102 S. Buffalo Street, Warsaw, Indiana, to receive and hear remonstrances and objections from all persons interested in or affected by the proposed Amendments. Written remonstrances against the proposed Amended Plan and Declaratory Resolution may be filed at any time before 2:00 p.m., on June 5, 2023, in the offices of the Clerk-Treasurer of the City, located at 102 S. Buffalo Street, Warsaw, Indiana. At the public hearing, the Commission will hear any person who has filed a written remonstrance during this filing period, and receive and hear any remonstrances or objections from persons interested in or affected by the Amended Plan and Declaratory Resolution.

    The Commission will determine the public utility and the benefit of the proposed projects.  Maps and plats have been prepared and, along with the Amended Plan, can be inspected at the offices of the Clerk-Treasurer of the City, located at 102 S. Buffalo Street, Warsaw, Indiana.
