Peru at Manchester


An amazing season for Manchester got even better Wednesday night, as the Lady Squires defeated Peru 3-2 to win the Three Rivers Conference title. Manchester is now 14-1 this season, 8-0 in the TRC.

The No. 1 doubles pairing of Delani Henderson and Carleigh Blevins dominated their match, winning 6-0, 6-0 in just over half an hour. No. 3 singles player Bethany Penrod earned a 6-1, 6-1 win to give Manchester two victories, and not long after, the No. 2 doubles team of Addison Brubaker and Hailey Krom earned a 6-0, 6-1 to clinch the victory and conference title.

The win concludes the regular season for the Lady Squires, who will find out their sectional opponent on May 15th during the IHSAA pairings show.

Baseball

NorthWood at Warsaw


Warsaw picked up a win in dramatic fashion to end Senior Night on a high note Wednesday evening, defeating NorthWood 7-6 in eight innings. The Tigers are now 12-8-1 this season, 7-4 in the Northern Lakes Conference.

Jette Woodward was the Tiger hero in extra innings, hitting a walk-off single to end the game in style. Woodward went 2-5 with a double. Kellan Bailey went 2-4 with a double, two runs scored and two more driven in. Bailey also struck out three in four innings of work, giving up no earned runs.

The Tigers are back at home Friday evening for another conference game against Northridge.

Southwood at Tippecanoe Valley

Tippecanoe Valley picked up its third win in a row Wednesday evening, defeating Southwood 6-0 at home. The Vikings are now 8-7 this season, 5-2 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Evan Myers had a huge day at the plate, going 2-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Cameron Manuel also had two runs driven in and a double. Markus Bernicky struck out eight in seven innings on the mound.

Valley is scheduled to play at the Culver Academies Tournament Saturday morning.

Wawasee at Northridge

Wawasee is still searching for a win to end its long losing streak after falling 15-4 to Northridge in five innings Wednesday evening. The Warriors are now 2-16 this season, 1-10 in the Northern Lakes Conference.

Wawasee will look to snap the seven game skid Friday night at home when the team takes on conference foe Plymouth.

North Miami at Manchester

Manchester dropped a high-scoring game to North Miami Wednesday evening, falling 9-5 at home. The Squires are now 8-11 this spring, 3-4 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Riess Gaerte Went 1-3 with a double, a run scored and two driven in. Evan Estep also had an RBI for Manchester

The Squires will look to get back in the win column Friday night at home against Heritage.

Northfield at Whitko

Whitko was unable to extend its winning streak Wednesday evening, falling 7-2 at home to Northfield. The Wildcats are now 14-4 this season, 5-2 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Breyden Kirkdorffer and Riley Harman each scored a run for Whitko. Bryson Shepherd added a base hit. Isaiah Cripe struck out three in 4.1 innings pitched.

The Wildcats will look to start a new streak Friday night at home against Columbia City.

Softball

Warsaw at NorthWood


Warsaw kept it close but was unable to secure a win against NorthWood Wednesday night, falling 7-4 on the road. The Lady Tigers are now 2-14 this season, 2-7 in the Northern Lakes Conference.

Addison Eastwood had two hits to lead the team. Lauren Eastwood, and Jadelyn Walters each added a run driven in. Addison also pitched all six innings for Warsaw, striking out six.

Warsaw will stay on the road Friday evening at Northridge.

Southwood at Tippecanoe Valley

Tippecanoe Valley picked up a win in a low-scoring affair against Southwood Wednesday evening, winning 3-2 at home. The Lady Vikings are now 10-5 this spring, 5-1 in the Three Rivers Conference.

It was a huge day for Dalynne Bussard, who went 2-3 with a two-run home run while also striking out nine on the mound. Corinna Stiles also had a run driven in for Tippy Valley.

The Lady Vikings have a road game Friday night against Pioneer.

Northridge at Wawasee

Wawasee picked up a conference win against Northridge Wednesday night, defeating Northridge 6-3 at home. The Warriors are now 12-9 this season, 5-6 in the Northern Lakes Conference.

Haylee Allen went 2-3 with a triple and two runs driven in. Ava Couture also had two base hits for the Warriors, scoring a run in the process. Iliana Burelison was the third Wawasee player with two hits, also picking up an RBI.

The Warriors are on the road Friday night for a conference game against Plymouth.

North Miami at Manchester

Manchester dropped its fifth game in a row Wednesday night, falling 11-0 to North Miami in six innings. The Lady Squires are now 4-18 this season, 2-5 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Paxton Baker and Hadley West each had a hit for Manchester. The Lady Squires will look to snap the skid Saturday morning at the Lady Tiger Tournament at Warsaw.

Northfield at Whitko

Whitko was finally able to snap its long losing streak with a 8-1 win over Northfield Wednesday afternoon. The Lady ‘Cats are now 2-11 this season, 1-4 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Addie Garr went 1-3 with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly. Madison Cripe went 3-3 with two doubles and three runs scored. Taylor Long had two base hits and an RBI.

Whitko will try to make it two in a row Saturday morning at home against Maconaquah.
