Baseball

Tippecanoe Valley at North Miami


Tippecanoe Valley was able to stop a short losing streak with a win over North Miami Thursday evening, taking the game 8-5. The Vikings are now 6-7 this spring, 3-2 in the Three Rivers Conference.

It was a big night for Wes Haines, who went 2-3 with a double and three runs driven in. Noah Prater also added a hit and an RBI. Cameron Manuel struck out 12 in seven innings of work, picking up the win and only allowing two earned runs.

The Vikings are back in action Monday evening at home against Maconaquah.

Wabash at Manchester

Manchester was able to pick up a conference win Thursday night, defeating Wabash 4-3 at home. The Squires are now 8-8, 3-2 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Gavin Martin went 2-3, scoring two runs and driving one in as well. Garrett Sites also had a 2-3 night, scoring a run. Evan Martynowicz struck out four in a win on the mound.

Manchester is back on the road Saturday morning against DeKalb.

Maconaquah at Whitko

Whitko won its sixth game in a row Thursday night, defeating Maconaquah 4-1 at home. The Wildcats are now 13-2 this spring, 4-1 in the Three Rivers Conference.

It was a huge day for Riley Harman. The sophomore went 1-4 at the plate, driving in two runs, while also striking out 10 and giving up no earned runs in the win on the mound. Max Platt went 2-4 with an RBI.

Whitko remains at home for its next game, a Monday evening contest with Southwood.

Softball

Tippecanoe Valley at North Miami


Tippecanoe Valley dropped its first conference game of the season Thursday evening, falling 2-1 on the road to North Miami. The Lady Vikings are now 9-5 this spring, 4-1 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Madi Smith had a nice day at the plate, going 3-4 with a pair of doubles. Maddie Thompson went 1-3, driving in the team’s lone run. Dalynne Bussard struck out three North Miami hitters on the mound.

Valley is back in action Monday evening at home against Maconaquah.

Wawasee at Concord

It was a big win for Wawasee Thursday night, as the Warriors defeated conference foe Concord 12-0 on the road. The Warriors are now 11-6 this season, 4-3 in the Northern Lakes Conference.

Brooke Catron had a massive day at the plate, driving in four runs, scoring two of her own and hitting a double. Ava Couture went 2-5 with two runs driven in. Haylee Allen was masterful on the mound once again, striking out seven and giving up just one hit in the win.

Wawasee is on the road at Fort Wayne Carroll Saturday morning.

Wabash at Manchester

Manchester was able to pick up a win in a high-scoring affair with Wabash Thursday evening, defeating Wabash 10-8 at home. The Lady Squires are now 4-13 this season, 2-3 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Paxton Baker and Hadley West each drove in two runs, each hitting a double in the process. McKelvey Espeset just missed out on hitting for the cycle, going 3-4 with a single, double, triple and a run scored.

Manchester is on the road Saturday morning at South Adams.

Tennis

Warsaw at Culver Academies


Warsaw continued its stellar play with a narrow win over Culver Academies Thursday evening, winning 3-2 on the road. The Lady Tigers are now 6-4 this season.

No. 2 and No. 3 singles players Abby Nicholas and Emma Van Puffelen each earned straight set wins, with Van Puffelen winning her match 6-1, 6-2. The No. 2 doubles pairing of Claire Reichenbach and Lucy Ray clinched the match for Warsaw, winning 6-4, 1-6, 6-2.

Warsaw hosts conference foe Goshen on Monday.
