NOTICE OF HEARING  ON PROPOSED  ORDINANCE AMENDING  SECTION  51.61

OF THE TOWN OF NORTH WEBSTER,  INDIANA CODE OF ORDINANCES FIXING THE SCHEDULE  OF RATES AND CHARGES TO BE COLLECTED BY THE TOWN OF NORTH WEBSTER,  INDIANA,  FROM THE OWNERS  OF PROPERTY  SERVED BY THE SEWAGE  WORKS OF SAID TOWN AND OTHER MATTERS  CONNECTED THEREWITH

    You are hereby notified that a public hearing will be held before the Common Council of the Town of North Webster  on February  21, 2023 at the hour of 6:00 p.m. (Local Time)  at the North Webster Community Center located at 301 North Main Street, North Webster, Indiana, upon a proposed ordinance amending  the schedule of rates and charges to be collected by  the Town of North Webster, Indiana, from the owners of property served by the sewage works of said town and other matters connected therewith.

The proposed Ordinance reads as follows:

    SECTION ONE: That Section 51.61 of the Town of North Webster, Indiana, Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows:

    (A) For the use of and the service rendered by the sewage works, rates and charges shall be collected from the owners of each and every lot, parcel of real estate, or building that is connected with the Town sanitary system or otherwise discharges sanitary sewage, industrial wastes, water, or other liquids, either directly or indirectly, into the town sanitary sewage system. The rates and charges include user charges, debt service costs, excessive strength surcharges, and other service charges.

    (B) The rates and charges are payable as provided and shall be in the following amounts:

    (1.)  The sewage rates and charges for users not metered shall be based on the estimated quantity of water used on or in the property or premises subject to such rates and charges, as the same is determined  by equivalent singe family dwellings.   Sewage service bills shall be due and payable once each month (or period equaling a month) as set out in each customer's coupon book. The amount of said rates and charges shall be the total of $3.00 per month for each user subject to sewer charges, plus a charge for user charges and debt service, which shall be determined as listed in the following table:

SECTION TWO

    The Sewage Rates and Charges herein set forth shall become effective on March 1, 2023, and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage and signing by the Town Council.
