Parent Drive Speeders

Editor, Times-Union:
It’s me again! I haven’t ranted for a year or so about the speeding cars through our lovely Yellow Retirement community.
As cars fly by my house down PARENT DRIVE SPEEDWAY, what seems to me at least 50 miles per hour in a 25-mile-per-hour speed zone, I can’t help myself, I have to rant again.
Some time ago some of my neighbors and I went to a meeting of city officials. It was their opinion that it was a false perception in our minds that there was a speeding problem on Parent Drive.
We now have 14 more homes in our community, coming onto Parent Drive from a side street right at the bend of our street. Speeding in either direction could make the problem more dangerous!
Any safety measures taken to make this a safer place to live would be greatly appreciated by all of us living in Yellow Retirement.
