Track and Field

Manchester at Tippecanoe Valley


Manchester earned a conference win over Tippecanoe Valley Thursday evening, with the boys winning 96-26 and the girls taking the match 74-37.

On the boys side, the Squires’ Kolby Haecker took first place in the long jump and the high jump. Caleb Smith took first in the 1600M and 3200M races. Carson Heath also won two events, taking first in the 110M hurdles as well as the 400M. For the Vikings, Wade Jones won the 200M draft while Dalton Alber took first in the shot put. The 4x400M relay team of Nate Parker, Colton Crabb, Isaac Whetstone and Jones finished in first.

For the girls, Manchester’s Leyna Borgmann took first in the shot put and the discus. Aliala Atienza won the 100M hurdles while Olivia Davis took first in the 100M. Kadence Fox won the 1600M race. The Lady Vikings were led by Chesnee Miller, who took first in the 400M and the long jump. Carlee Snyder took first place in the high jump.

Baseball

Knox at Triton


Triton was able to snap a short two-game slide with a win over Knox Thursday night, defeating Knox 2-1. The Trojans are now 5-9, 2-3 in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference.

Drew Bingamon was lights out on the mound, striking out five in seven innings while giving up just four hits and one earned run. Bingamon also had one of his team’s two hits, as did Jacob Pitney.

The Trojans are back in action Monday night at home against Culver Community. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Softball

Caston at Tippecanoe Valley

Tippecanoe Valley was unable to get much going offensively against a very good Caston team Thursday evening, falling 15-1 in five innings. The Lady Vikings are now 8-4 this season.

The lone Valley run was driven in by Madi Smith. Dalynne Bussard led the team in hits with two.

The Lady Vikings will look to get back in the win column at home Saturday morning when the team hosts a tournament.

Triton at Bremen

Triton dropped its second game in a row Thursday night, falling 10-0 to Bremen. The Lady Trojans are now 1-12 and play their next game Monday at home against Culver Academies at 5 p.m.

Tennis

Fort Wayne Carroll at Manchester


Manchester dropped its first match of the season Thursday night, dropping its match to a powerhouse Fort Wayne Carroll side 3-2. The Lady Squires are now 8-1 this season.

Manchester’s two wins came from No. 2 singles competitor Myla Crozier, who earned a 6-4, 7-5 victory over her opponent. Manchester’s No. 1 doubles pairing of Delani Henderson and Carleigh Blevins also earned a straight-set victory, winning 6-1, 6-2.

The Lady Squires host Whitko Tuesday evening at 5 p.m.

Wabash at Whitko

Whitko continued its success this season with a 5-0 win over Wabash Thursday evening.

No. 1 singles competitor Abbi Frank was dominant in her match, winning 6-1, 6-2. No. 3 singles player Bailey Wolfe had to battle back after dropping her first set, eventually winning 6-7 (4-7), 6-1, 6-2.  The No. 1 doubles pairing of Alayna Kreps and Jillian Culp won 6-0, 6-0.

The Lady ‘Cats have another meeting with Wabash Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

LaVille at Triton

Triton picked up a conference victory over LaVille Thursday evening, winning 4-1 at home.

No. 1 singles competitor Danica Kuntz was dominant in her match, picking up a 6-0, 6-0 victory. No. 2 doubles pairing Nadia Stetler and Ana Lemler won their match 6-1, 6-0. No. 3 singles player Jenna Bules won 7-5, 6-1.

The Lady Trojans are back in action Saturday morning at the Concord Invite starting at 9 a.m.

Golf

Caston at Tippecanoe Valley


Tippecanoe Valley golf continued its strong play Thursday evening, defeating Caston 161-205 to improve to 8-1 this spring.

Greg Miller was a medalist once again, scoring a 36 for his round. Not far behind him was Wes Parker with a 38. Eli Love shot a 40 to round out the team’s top three.

The Vikings will compete at the Joe Harris Invitational in Warsaw Tuesday at 4:15 p.m.
