Baseball

Triton at North Judson


Triton was able to score some late runs but it was not enough to get past North Judson in the team’s Hoosier North Athletic Conference opener as the Trojans lost 14-4 in six innings. Triton is now 3-6.

Three of the team’s four runs were driven in by Drew Bingamon, who had a double. Jacob Pitney led the Trojans in hits with two to go with a run scored.

Triton hosts Pioneer Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

Softball

Warsaw at Columbia City


Warsaw is still searching for its first win of the season after falling 16-1 in five innings to Columbia City Tuesday night. The Lady Tigers are now 0-6 this spring.

The lone Warsaw run came in the top of the fifth inning on a sacrifice by Brooklyn Nibert. Nekiana Hamilton, Jadelyn Walters and Milana Whitaker each had a hit for the Lady Tigers, who play their next game Thursday at Wawasee. First pitch scheduled for 5 p.m.

Culver Academy at Tippecanoe Valley

Tippecanoe Valley made it five wins in a row in dominant fashion Tuesday evening, defeating Culver Academy 15-1 at home. The Lady Vikings are now 5-1 this season.

Mackaylie Costello and Abby Bowers each drove in three runs, with Bowers being one of six Valley players to tally at least two hits. Costello struck out 10 in her five innings on the mound, giving up just the one run in the win. Molly Moriarty scored three runs.

The Lady Vikings host Adams Central Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

Adams Central at Manchester

It was a tough Tuesday afternoon for Manchester, as the Lady Squires fell 18-3 to Adams Central for the team’s fourth loss in a row. Manchester now sits at 1-7-1.

Paxton Baker and Hadley West each had two hits, with West driving in two of the team’s three runs. McKelvey Espeset also drove in a run for the Lady Squires.

Manchester’s next game is Thursday evening against Triton at 5:30 p.m.

Triton at Pioneer

Triton is still searching for win No. 1 after falling 10-0 to Pioneer in five innings Tuesday night. The Lady Trojans are now 0-8.

Sierra Hawley, Mylie Groves and Shade Trent each had a hit for Triton, which plays its next game Thursday night at Manchester.

Tennis

Warsaw at Plymouth


Warsaw suffered a narrow defeat at the hands of conference rival Plymouth Tuesday, falling 3-2. The Lady Tigers are now 0-2, 0-1 in the Northern Lakes Conference.

No. 1 singles competitor Addie Lind was flawless in her victory, winning 6-0, 6-0. No. 3 singles player Emma VanPuffelen also picked up a win, picking up a 6-4, 6-3 victory.

Warsaw plays at Fairfield Thursday evening at 4:30 p.m.

Maconaquah at Manchester

Manchester continued a torrid start to its season Tuesday night, picking up a 5-0 win over Maconaquah. The Lady Squires are now 3-0, 2-0 in the Three Rivers Conference.

All three singles competitors for Manchester won in straight sets, with No. 3 freshman Bethany Penrod winning 6-0, 6-1. The No. 2 doubles pairing of Addison Brubaker and Kate Schroll fought through some early adversity to win their match 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 6-2.

The Lady Squires host Wawasee Thursday night for their next match.

Girls Track and Field

Warsaw/NorthWood at Wawasee


Warsaw put together another solid performance at a three-way conference meet at Wawasee Tuesday night, winning the meet with a team score of 106. Wawasee finished in third.

The Lady Tigers picked up wins in the 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays, with Josefina Rastrelli, Madison Smalley and Mikayla Mimmaugh competing in both. Josefina also won the 400 meter dash while Sammi Rastrelli picked up another win in the 1600M run. Camryn Burner won both the 100 and 200M  dashes for Warsaw. Wawasee’s Emma Yoder won the discus throw while Brooklynn Gibson picked up a shot put win for the Warriors.
