PALM CITY, Fla. – Grace’s women’s golf team finished as national runners-up and Summer Stillson won the individual national championship as the NCCAA national tournament came to a close on Wednesday afternoon.

Stillson became the first individual national champion in program history, after besting her competition by a single stroke on the final day. Stillson’s tournament total of 229 is the best three-round score in team history.

Stillson also earned All-American status as she led the way for Grace, whose team score of 965 was nine strokes off of national champion Bethel. This is the fourth straight year in which Grace has finished in the top three.

The Lady Lancers impressed throughout the tournament and carded their lowests national tournament score ever. It is also the second lowest three-mark that they have achieved.

Also carding a top three finish for Grace was Lucy Young, whose three-round total of 238 was the third best championship total in Grace’s history. Young joined Stillson as she was also honored as an All-American. It is the second time in her career that she has earned the distinction.

Brette Hanavan and Grace May closed out the tournament with identical scores of 251. Both players finished in the top 10 overall.

Carolyn Pacocha finished the tournament with her best round of the week. Pacocha finished with a total score of 265 which earned her a top 20 finish.



Men’s Golf Wraps Up Tournament Play

PALM COAST, Fla. - Grace’s men’s golf team completed competition at the 2022 NCCAA National Championships on Wednesday afternoon. An up-and-down day led to a 329 team score for the third round. The three-day score of 968 positioned them in ninth place overall for the tournament.

Isaac Embry turned in the low round of the day for the Lancers with an 80 to go five strokes lower than round two. He finished with a 241 for the week with six birdies.

Blake Lawson was the overall leader for Grace with a combined 238 to finish 22nd overall. He posted an 85 in the final round.

Parker Wilburn stayed consistent with another 81 in the third round. He finished the tournament at 242, one stroke behind Embry.

Chase Byron (254) carded an 83 to match his previous day’s score. He tallied six birdies over three rounds. Tristen Dubbs (253) rounded out the scoring with an 86 on the final day for Grace.
