The Warsaw Tigers clinched a third place finish in the Northern Lakes Conference with a 35-21 victory at Northridge Friday night. The Tigers wrap up the regular season with a 7-2 record, 5-2 in the NLC.

Warsaw had to fight through adversity several times in the game, trailing for most of the first half before taking a 14-13 lead into the break. After the Raiders were able to battle back from eight down and tie the game at 21, the Tigers were able to anchor down and score the only 14 points of the fourth quarter for the win.

Warsaw picked up 353 yards on the game, all of them coming on the ground. It was a huge day for German Flores-Ortega, who became the fourth player in school history to score five touchdowns in a game, tying the school record. Flores-Ortega would rush for 160 yards on the night.

Quarterback Drew Sullivan only attempted one pass on the night, but was very busy with his legs. The sophomore gained 183 yards on the ground on 27 carries. The Tigers dominated time of possession, doubling up Northridge by holding onto the ball for 32 minutes.

The Tigers have next week off as the team waits for 6A Sectionals to begin the following Friday. Warsaw hosts Elkhart on October 28.
