GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Manchester University softball team was swept by the Calvin University Knights in a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday. The Black & Gold fell by final scores of 7-2 and 22-3.

Spartan Stats

In the opening game of the afternoon, first-year Julianne Gosnell (Amboy, Ind./Oak Hill) collected a pair of hits and scored a run.

Kodi Douglass (Huntington) added an RBI single in the opener.

The Black & Gold collected seven hits in the first game of the afternoon.

In the second game of the afternoon, first-year Morgan Michael (Quincy, Mich.) went 2-2 at the plate with a run scored.

Delayne Sanchez (Osceola) had an RBI double in the 4th inning of the second game against the Knights.

Up Next

Manchester will play another MIAA member in Olivet College on Thursday March 31 as non-conference play continues.

The Spartans are scheduled to host the Comets at the MU Softball Field in a doubleheader with first pitch coming at 3:30 p.m.
