Synergy Builds Custom Homes In Tandem With Customers

On Tuesday, the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting for Synergy Partnerships at 3790 Lake City Highway, Warsaw.
Managing Partner Michael Trier said Synergy Partnerships offers new home construction, full HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and plumbing and luxury custom cabinetry. Managing Partner Sam Yeiter said they also offer trim, finishing and paint.
“So, we are from start to finish home builders, as well as plumbing and heating and air conditioning retail service. So if someone needs an air conditioner or furnace, they can just call. A water heater, we can come and take care of it,” Yeiter said.
Synergy Partnerships builds luxury homes, especially for this area, he said.
“We build luxury custom homes and we design them, build them, we finish them, we trim them. We do everything,” Yeiter said.
The business started in April 2018 and has built about 20 homes since then. Synergy has completed “dozens and dozens” of renovations, Yeiter said.
“So that’s what we did as far as the home building. We started plumbing and HVAC about 1-1/2 years ago, so we’ve been ramping that up and now serve all of Kosciusko County, and Marshall and Fulton,” he said.
As to why they added HVAC and plumbing, Yeiter said, “Our vision was always to have divisions. Synergy is two or more things coming together to produce a result better than each of the individual parts on their own. So that’s what synergy means. So synergistic is when something is working together (with something else) and it produces something better. So we started that idea of synergy, believing that when we work together with our clients, they got something better than if they worked on their own or if they just told us ‘build us something.’”
He said they also had the idea of divisions from the very beginning.
“We wanted to be a full, autonomous - we wanted to be able to handle everything in house that was reasonable,” Yeiter said. “It started with painting, we brought on a painter and finisher. Then plumbing came on about a month later.”
About a year later, Chris Bramlett, Synergy Heating & Air Conditioning president, came on board. George Phillips is the Synergy Plumbing president.
“We just saw that we could bring a guy in house. We have their expertise. These guys are the best in the area. We have the best guys at Synergy so that our clients benefit from that and everyone else gets to benefit from that as well,” Yeiter said.
Bramlett said there’s always room for expansion, including an electrician possibly down the road.
“There are more divisions that we would like to add, but we’ve grown from three total employees, including the owners - there were three of us when we started - and now we’re close to 30 employees,” Yeiter said. “So we’ve grown a lot, especially in the last 2-1/2 years. So we’re kind of settling in, get that humming, keep it humming and then we’ll think about expansion in the future.”
With the housing shortage in Kosciusko County and beyond, Trier said there’s certainly plenty of work to do.
“We’re steady around here. We have a good economy, hopefully, and throughout Covid and everything else everything’s been very steady for sure,” Trier said.
The office opened at 3790 Lake City Highway about 1-1/2 years ago, Yeiter said.
“We recently took over all of the Carter property down the road, the old Carter buildings, across the highway, just on the other side of Harbor Freight. That’s where our cabinet shop is, our plumbing and HVAC and everything,” he said.
Bramlett said they are having an open house Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 3790 Lake City Highway.
“All of the public can come and see everything we do and everything will be showcased - our cabinets, our plumbing and heating and everything in between,” he said.
Yeiter said the public will be able to talk to Synergy Partnerships’ professionals for free and “pick our brains about their projects or whatever.”
Bramlett said, “We are all people-oriented, relationship-oriented, where it’s not just producing a product. It’s a relationship that we want to create and continue that relationship down the road, whether it’s putting in a furnace or adding a bathroom. We want that connection from start to finish and then, for them, the customers to recommend us and then just continue that perpetually ... That’s what we’re kind of focusing on right now - everything working together, taking care of each customer one at a time so that customer can refer us to their friends and family.”
The last two years have been very challenging, Yeiter said, with interruptions in the supply chain, labor market, prices of equipment and materials, gas prices, “but, the reality is, it has been hard but we genuinely care about each of our clients. There’s always frustrations along the way but we care about them and we work to get them the results that one, they’ve paid for, and two, they’ve expected, and then we said we’d deliver. So that’s what we do.”
