Warsaw, IN -  History will be made and remembered at the 3rd Annual “We Are Tigers” Dinner and Auction on Thursday, February 24, at The Heritage Room in Winona Lake. The first-ever induction class of the Warsaw Athletics Hall of Fame will take place near the end of the evening. That class includes 10 individual state champions and one team state champion. The first class, as voted on by the Warsaw Hall of Fame Committee, is the Class of 2021, the year of their state championship.

Donald Stamats- 1921- 440 yards (53.8)

Robert Chambers- 1937- Mile (4:38.2)

Dave Burke- 1951- High Jump (6’1 3/4”)

Max Truex- 1954- Boys Track & field Mile. State Champion (4:20)

Olympian in the Mile 1960 Rome

Larry Ruch- 1959- Pole Vault (13’0)

Dick Fancil- 1961- Pole Vault (12’9”)

Ted Pinnick- 1974 State Champion wrestler 145 lbs

Henry Ford- 1979 State Champion wrestler 140 lbs

Scott Hutchinson- 1981 State Champion wrestler 98 lbs

Troy Furnivall- 1982 State Champion in 400. (47.83)

National Indoor champion

1976 Girls Basketball team- First-ever Girls’ State Basketball Champions

An online auction will take place during the days leading up to the event, and silent and traditional auctions will take place during the event itself.
