The Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO), located at 801 E. 96th Avenue, Merrillville, IN 46410, is submitting a Notice of Intent to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management to comply with the requirements of Construction Stormwater General Permit INRA00000 to discharge storm water from construction activities associated with the installation of a new electrical substation (Heron Lake Substation) at the northwest corner of SR 13 and CR 500 N in unincorporated Kosciusko County. Runoff from the project site will follow existing drainage patterns and infiltrate into existing vegetated areas that ultimately discharge to the Grassy Creek-Big Barbee/Sechrist Lakes watershed.
