ANDERSON, Ind. – The Manchester University indoor track & field teams were back in action on Saturday February 5 at the Anderson Invite. Another school record was broken and numerous top 10 and person-bests were established. Both sides competed well in a highly competitive meet. The Manchester women placed second out of 10 teams with 78 points. The men placed third out of 11 squads with 56 points.

Podium Placements (Top 3)

Men

Enrique Salazar (Plymouth) set a new Kardatzke Wellness Center record as well as a new Manchester record in the 5000m. Salazar won Saturday’s event with a time of 14:34.31. He improved upon his previous career-best and the old school record by over 30 seconds. His time also stands as the 11th-best in all of NCAA Division III this season.

Thomas Richardson (Ladoga) placed second in the 5000m with time of 15:18.64 – his time was good enough for 4th all-time.

Tristen Bronaugh (Crawfordsville) placed second in the 400m, cross the tape at 52.22 seconds. His time catapulted him to 4th on the Manchester all-time Top 10 rankings.

Joseph Powell (Beach Park, Ill./Zion Benton) placed third in the high jump, clearing 1.82m.

The 4-x-400 meter relay team of Zackary Freel, Duriel Moss Jr., Phillip Clesceri, and Ben Miles earned a third-place finish following a time of 3:39.55 on Saturday.

Women

Elizabeth Lohman (Fort Wayne) won the 3000m on Saturday with a leading time of 10:45.34. Her time puts her at 9th on the Manchester all-time Top 10 listing. Hannah Brubaker (Goshen, Ind./NorthWood) added a runner-up placement in the 3000m with a time of 10:57.09.

Erica Mohr (Payne, Ohio) placed second in the weight throw, best mark of 14.49m.

Adelle Stanko (Okemos, Mich.) and Kendal Garringer (Portland) placed second and third, respectively, in the long jump. Stanko posted a mark of 9.78m, while Garringer posted a mark of 9.27m.

The 4-x-200 meter relay team of Stanko, Brooke Bouwens, Antonae Colfield, and Brandi Smith placed third with a final time of 1:53.54. Their time stands 5th all-time at Manchester. Bouwens would add a runner-up placement in the 400m dash with a time of 1:04.78. Her time ranks 9th on the all-time listings.

The 4-x-400 meter relay team of Jaela Faulkner, Morgan Chupp, Hilary Ernsets, and Antonae Colfield placed third following a collective time of 4:40.06.

Fiona Frost (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence Central) placed third in the 5000m after running to a final time of 20:46.34.

New Top 10 Marks

Men

Connor Havens (LaPorte) improved his standing in the 5000m. His time of 15:21.72 on Saturday was a new career-best and moved him up to 5th all-time on Manchester Top 10 listings.

Timothy Macomber (Angola) improved his mark in the shot put. His top distance of 14.02m was a new season-best and still stands 9th all-time at Manchester.

Gabe Hendricks (Fort Wayne) broke into the Top 10 in the shot put with a mark of 13.92m on Saturday night.

Women

Dakota Goetz (Lowell) posted a top throw of 13.78m. Her mark was a new personal-best and ranks as the 9th-best mark in school history.

Both Adelle Stanko and Brooke Bouwens (Clarksville, Mich.) set new Top 10 marks in the prelims of the 60m dash. Stanko clocked in at 8.50 seconds – still good for 6th all-time. Bouwens crossed the tape at 8.58 – good for 10th all-time.

The Spartans are scheduled to return to action this coming weekend with some runners heading to Grand Valley State on Friday February 11 and the majority of the squad heading to DePauw on Saturday.
