The event was celebrated Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting with the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce.
The early learning center can take 82 children. As of Tuesday, the center has 15 children, said JoAnne Rewolinski, children’s director.
There are seven classrooms and every classroom will have a lead teacher and an assistant teacher. There will be one 4-year-old classroom, one 3-year-old classroom, two 2-year-old classrooms, two 1-year-old classrooms and an infant classroom. Pleasant View Early Learning is from birth to kindergarten.
The pastors of the church approached the Chamber about the need for day cares in the area and said they’d like to help address it, she said.
It is a ministry of the church, so it is separate from the church, she said. The main goal to share the gospel and care for children.
She said Pleasant View Early Learning is more than a day care. It has a curriculum that helps get children ready for kindergarten when they leave.
It is an all-day day care center, open from 6:30 a.m. to 5: 30 p.m.
Weekly rates are $275 for infants, $235 for toddlers and $179 for 3- and 4-year-olds.
Pleasant View Early Learning is pursuing several certifications and, once the day care is fully certified, they will be able to accept vouchers.
