Wagon Wheel Announces Youth Auditions For ‘Elf’

The Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts announced auditions for youth for its professional theatre holiday show “ELF: The Musical,” based on the motion picture.

Casting children’s ensemble to play elves in the opening sequence and the role of Michael Hobbs. Michael is a singing/dancing leading role for a child actor appearing 12 years old.

Dates, location and information are below. Be certain to double check all rehearsal dates and performances.  Due to limited time constraints, Wagon Wheel cannot accommodate conflicts. For more information, visit the website at wagonwheelcenter.org or email [email protected].

Auditions are Oct. 18 at the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts, 2515 E. Center St., Warsaw. For ages 9-11, they’re at 10 a.m. For ages 12 to 18, they’re at 11 a.m.

Youth should be 5 feet, 5 inches and shorter. No need to prepare anything. Wagon Wheel staff will teach you a short song.

The Wagon Wheel Theatre is dedicated to practicing inclusive, diverse and non-traditional casting. Wagon Wheel encourages all youth from the greater Warsaw area and beyond to attend.

If your child is unable to attend the audition day but would still like to be considered, then they may submit an audition video to [email protected]. Include your child’s age, height and  a small video clip of them singing a short Christmas song. All audition submissions must be received by Oct. 15.

Rehearsal times are subject to change but are scheduled for Nov. 20-21, 1 to 4 p.m; Nov. 22-24, 4 to 8 p.m.; off Nov. 25 for Thanksgiving Day; Nov. 26, 1 to 5 p.m.; Nov. 27-28, 1 to 4 p.m.; Nov. 29-30, 5 to 8 p.m.; Dec. 1, 6 to 11 p.m.; Dec. 2, tech and final dress, noon to 11 p.m., requires kids to miss partial school day.

Performances are Dec. 3-4 at 7 p.m. with a 6 p.m. call time; Dec. 5 at 1 p.m., 1 p.m. call time; off Dec. 6-8; Dec. 9-10, school shows at 10 a.m., 9 a.m. call time, requires kids to miss at least half day of school; Dec. 10-11, 7 p.m., 6 p.m. call time; Dec. 12, 2 p.m., 1 p.m. call time; off Dec. 13-15; Dec. 16-17, school shows at 10 a.m., 9 a.m. call time, requires kids to miss at least half day of school; Dec. 17-18, 7 p.m., 6 p.m. call time; Dec. 19, 2 p.m., 1 p.m. call time.
