Grace Unveils 2021 Inductees For Lancer Hall Of Fame

WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The Grace College Athletic Department will induct three members into the Lancer Hall of Fame on Saturday: Andy Bonham, Max Anders and Jessica Muneza (Stolle).

The 2021 induction class is Grace’s 13th class. The group will be honored at the annual Hall of Fame Breakfast on Saturday at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center.

“It's exciting to honor Grace's rich athletic history,” said Grace Director of Athletics Chad Briscoe. “This is an accomplished group of people who have added much to Grace Athletics. They deserve to be recognized for their contributions to our institution.”

Bonham was an accomplished men’s soccer player who starred at Grace from 1979-83. He was a four-time All-Conference and three-time NAIA All-District honoree. He was named NCCAA First Team All-American in 1981 and 1982 and was NCCAA Second Team All-American in 1980.

Anders was a track and field standout from 1967-70. He earned four All-Conference honors during his four-year career. He held Grace’s high jump record for 46 years before it was finally broken in recent years. It was the longest-standing record in school history, lasting from 1970 until 2016.

Muneza is one of the top women’s tennis players in Grace history. She played for the Lady Lancers from 2007-11. She ended her career ranked No. 1 in most singles wins and most overall wins in a career as well as best singles winning percentage and overall winning percentage in a career. She posted a perfect 15-0 record as a freshman in 2007, winning the conference championship and securing the best individual season in team history.

“We want to thank those individuals who have brought much distinction and honor to Grace College and have established a tradition of Christian excellence which is incomparable,” Briscoe continued. “These achievements have touched everyone associated with Grace College both in and out of the arena of athletics.”

Wyman to coach Grace Bowling

WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace College is pleased to announce Kirk Wyman as the next head coach for Grace’s bowling program.

Wyman has been a longtime bowling assistant coach at Warsaw Community High School. He has coached the Tigers for 19 years, the first five with the girls’ program and the last 14 with the boys.

“I’m very excited to extend my coaching to the next level at Grace College and to lead the bowling program forward in this great sport,” Wyman said. “I look forward to engaging with our athletes and challenging them athletically and spiritually on a daily basis.”

Wyman’s Warsaw teams have experienced success at the team and individual levels. He has coached one girl and three boys to the state finals.

The boys’ team at Warsaw has advanced past sectionals 11 times and past regionals six times. He directed Warsaw’s boys to a fourth-place showing at the state finals in 2018.

Wyman is also an accomplished bowler himself. He has won four team city championships and several league titles. He has also bowled a dozen 300-games and six 800-series.

“We are very pleased to have Kirk lead our bowling program at Grace College,” said Grace Director of Athletics Chad Briscoe. “Kirk’s deep understanding of the sport and connections with the statewide bowling community will serve him well, and we look forward to seeing the program develop under his leadership.”

The Lancers will remain at a club sport level for the 2021-22 academic year before transitioning to a varsity status next year. The Crossroads League added bowling as an official championship sport this year.
