The Turkey Creek Dam and Dike Conservancy District Governing Board has filed with the Kosciusko Circuit Court a Motion for convening a public hearing and approval of District Plan pursuant to IC 14-33-6-5 including the favorable recommendation for adoption of the District Plan as submitted by the Division of Water, Indiana Department of Natural Resources on behalf of the Natural Resource Commission. Pursuant to IC 14-33-6-5 (b), the Kosciusko Circuit Court has set a public hearing prior to consideration of District Plan approval for October 21, 2021 at 10 a.m. (local time) to convene in the Kosciusko Circuit Court located at 121 N Lake Street, Warsaw, Indiana for the purpose of receiving public comment and input on the Governing Board pending request for Circuit Court approval of the District Plan. Immediately thereafter, the Governing Board will request Circuit Court approval of the District Plan. At that time and date, the Governing Board will also seek Circuit Court approval of the pending Petition modifying the order establishing the Conservancy District under IC 14-33-2-27 to provide that each director representing a directorship area shall be elected by a majority of the votes of the freeholders of that respective area. The Governing Board will also seek Court approval of its pending Petition for authorization of Governing Board compensation pursuant to IC 14-33-5-16.
Any and all interested freeholders are encouraged to be in attendance at the hearing. The District plan and IDNR approval thereof can be viewed on the Conservancy District website at https://turkeycreekddcd.org
