HS Football Recaps for Sept. 17

Triton Downs Cavaliers

CULVER – Triton sophomore quarterback Cole Shively threw but eight passes against host Culver Community, but he completed six for 101 yards and three touchdowns to classmate Cole Irvine, leading the  Trojans to a 35-24 road win Friday night in Hoosier North Athletic Conference football action.

Anthony Schuh rushed for 135 yards in 18 attempts, a 7.5 yards per carry average, and scored a touchdown. Shively added a rushing TD, as did junior Reilley Wood, who added 10 tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

Triton improved to 3-2 on the season, 2-1 in the HNAC, and will travel to face perennial conference power Pioneer Friday.



Wildcats Earn 1st Win Of 2021

SOUTH WHITLEY – Host Whitko earned its first football win of the 2021 season, beating North Miami 21-14 in a Three Rivers Conference matchup Friday night.

Statistics were not available as of press time.

Now 1-4 and 1-3 in the conference, the Wildcats travel to Tippecanoe Valley for a TRC game at 7 p.m. Friday.



Warriors Falls At NorthWood

NAPPANEE – Wawasee quarterback Lucas Ringler rushed for 102 yards and two touchdown, and passed for 59 yards in the Warriors’ 44-14 loss at NorthWood in Northern Lakes Conference football Friday night.

The Warriors (0-5, 0-3 NLC) host Plymouth Friday night.
