Arguis named NCCAA, CL Defender of the Week

WINONA LAKE - Aitana Arguis of Grace’s women’s soccer team received national attention on Monday.
She was named the NCCAA National Defender of the Week as well as the Crossroads League Defender of the Week.
Arguis scored the game-winning goal to beat No. 24 Northwestern Ohio on the road. She played defender during a pair of road shutouts for the Lady Lancers last week, including 2-0 at Indiana Tech and 1-0 at UNOH.
The Lady Lancers, currently ranked No. 15 in the NAIA, boast a 4-2 overall mark. Grace plays at Rochester on Wednesday before hosting No. 12 Columbia on Saturday at 1st Source Bank Field.
Conci earns league Defender of the Week
WINONA LAKE - Grace’s men’s soccer team earned a weekly award on Monday from the Crossroads League.
Matteo Conci was named the league’s Defender of the Week after a pair of strong performances.
Conci was strong as the squad’s goalkeeper this week with 13 saves across both games. Playing at No. 1 Missouri Valley, Conci stopped a penalty kick and recorded seven saves overall in a narrow 2-1 defeat. He saved six shots on Saturday in a 4-0 victory versus Cornerstone.
The Lancers have two home matches this week, including Wednesday 7 p.m. against Madonna and Saturday 12 p.m. against No. 5 Columbia.
