Triton VB Defeats Tippecanoe Valley

AKRON – Triton volleyball picked up a road victory over Tippecanoe Valley in a grueling five set match Thursday, 14-25, 25-13, 22-25, 26-24, 15-13. Both team’s records now sit at 8-3.

Sophomore Addyson Viers led the way for Triton, scoring 22 kills and recording six blocks. Senior Maddie Doll had 39 assists. For the Vikings, seniors Mallory Durkes and Bree Sheetz led the team with eleven kills apiece. Durkes also added seven blocks.

Triton plays its next game Saturday against Argos, while Tippy Valley waits until Monday to take on Columbia City.



Whitko Volleyball Takes Down Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER – Whitko volleyball defeated Manchester in four sets Thursday, 26-24, 25-11, 22-25, 25-16. The Lady ‘Cats move their record up to 5-10 this season, while Manchester falls to 2-7.

Senior Reese Bradford led Whitko in assists and service points, finishing with 20 and 13. Sophomore Audra Brandenburg finished with 14 kills.

The Lady Squires next match comes Monday against Bluffton, while the Lady ‘Cats take on Central Noble Tuesday.

 

Wawasee Volleyball Wins Against Goshen

SYRACUSE – Wawasee volleyball picked up a straight set victory over Goshen Thursday, 25-17, 25-12, 25-16. The Warriors are now 11-1 this fall.

Senior Dylan Konieczny and junior Amanda Allen both had fantastic games. “Sometimes you can send a message just by responding after a loss,” head coach Jeff Phillips said. “We are ready to compete with anyone.”

Wawasee plays its next game Monday against Westview.

 

Warsaw Boys Soccer Falls To Penn

MISHAWAKA – Warsaw boys soccer suffered a 4-1 loss at the hands of Penn Thursday. The loss snaps the Tigers four-game win streak and drops the team’s record to 8-3-1.

The lone Warsaw goal came off of the boot of senior Brandon Lopez, assisted by junior Roberto Sanchez.

Warsaw plays its next game Tuesday against NorthWood.

 

Valley Boys Soccer Loses To Marion

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley boys soccer was defeated 4-3 by Marion Thursday night. The loss drops the team’s record to 2-5-1.

Both teams were able to score a goal in the first half, and two in the second. But Marion found the back of the net with a little over seven minutes remaining to win the game. Jon Ruiz, Caleb Petgen and Kevin Mar all scored for the Vikings.

Tippy Valley plays its next game Monday, hosting Culver.

 

Wawasee Boys Soccer Defeats Lakeland

LaGRANGE – Wawasee boys soccer picked up a 1-0 victory over Lakeland Thursday. The Warriors are now 4-5 this season.

Wawasee was powered by a late second half goal by Xavier Washington that proved to be the difference in the match. Washington was assisted by Reuben Camargo.

The Warriors play their next match Monday against Breman.

 

Warsaw Boys Tennis Defeats Canterbury

WARSAW – Warsaw boys tennis picked up a 3-2 victory over Canterbury Thursday. The win snaps a short losing streak for the Tigers and brings their record to 4-5.

Keller Bailey picked up the lone Warsaw victory in the singles competition, winning his match 6-1, 6-1. The duos of Zachary Nicholas/Nick Boren and Jack Reed/Khareus Miller both won doubles matches for the Tigers, which was the difference.

Warsaw hosts the Warsaw Invitational Saturday.

 

Tippecanoe Valley Tennis Falls To Cass

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley boys tennis dropped its match with Cass Thursday night 5-0. The Vikings are now 7-7 this fall.

Tippy Valley was unable to win a set throughout the five matches of play. The doubles team of Cooper Walls and Annakin Pettit lost a close match 3-6, 6-7.

Wawasee Boys Tennis Drops Match To Northridge

SYRACUSE – Wawasee boys tennis dropped a close match to Northridge Thursday, losing 2-3. The Warriors drop to 8-7 this season.

Blaine Baut picked up a win for Wawasee in the singles competition, getting a 6-2, 6-2 straight set victory. Devon Kuhn and Jay Duncan got a victory in their doubles match, winning 6-4, 7-6.

The Warriors play their next game Tuesday against Warsaw.

 

Manchester Boys Tennis Defeats Whitko

NORTH MANCHESTER – Manchester boys tennis picked up a victory over Whitko Thursday, winning 3-2.

Logan Hoffman and Blake Schroeder both picked up victories in the singles competition for the Wildcats.

 

Valley Girls Golf Finishes 2nd In 3-Way Match

PERU, Ind. – Tippecanoe Valley girls golf came in second place of a three-way match. Maconaquah edged out the Lady Vikings buy six strokes to take the victory. Tippy Valley is now 15-4.

The team was led by Madelyn Weaver’s 40, followed by Kaydence Mellott with a 41 and Molly Moriarty with a 49. The Lady Vikings will play Saturday in the TRC conference tournament.
